What's happenin! This weekend is gonna be GREAT... On Friday I'll be at Fugu Lounge in Sac spinning Hip hop and Mashups for the valley peeps. Saturday I'll be at the "LUV" party at Bambuddha Lounge in San Francisco, spinning a house set that I'm really looking forward to! Get at me for guest lists!

The new mix is on the way.... Had a couple problems getting it out last week, but I can tell you it will be sooner than later! Thanks everyone!

Why can't I get it on Thursday??!! Beatles:Rubber Soul

Good rainy day music! To say the least though, this is a great album with changing instrumentation and moods. Some say it was the beginning of the next musical phase for The Beatles. I guess you can say it was kind of experemental-ish because it's kind of all over the place, but in a good way. I was going to add an iTunes link. But I forgot that they don't have Apple Records on iTunes (strange, yes?). But I can tell you it is on the torrentz :-D Have a great weekend everyone!

I know, I know... 311: Greatest Hits '93-'03

I said every Thursday, but I was at NAMM! The weather in So Cal was awesome this week :-D So on my way home I rolled down the windows, opened the sunroof and saw this in my playlists. 311 is one of my favorite bands and this record pretty much sums them up in a great way. Couldn't find a sample for this one... my recommendation? Hit up Rasputin's or Amoeba in Berkeley on a Saturday or Sunday morning and go digging!

Happy Late 2009?

Since I'm almost out of hard drive space, I've been having to go through and get rid of duplicates, stuff I have on CD, etc. Then I thought maybe a good project could be blogging some of my favorites from my desktop. So every Thursday I'll be posting info on all kinds of music, new and old, that isn't necessarily DJ related. And hopefully a sample of it too...

This afternoon I went back and listened to one of my favorites: Samba Social Club. I've always liked Brazilian drums and music because it sounded rhythmic but smooth (I guess?). This CD is a collection of some top artists that rock the shit out of Samba. It's really easy to listen to, and the instruments sound GREAT on it. To my ears anyway :-P
